Premise

Flurt is a dating app designed to connect people through their interests and hobbies first, and their looks last.

Typically dating apps rely massively on imagery, so to counteract this I had to create ways for users to showcase themselves without relying on imagery to do the heavy lifting.

Objective

My biggest goal for this project was to create a familiar environment for the users of dating apps. The primary concern for the developers of the app was worrying that the concept could be alienating to the new user who is familiar with more conventional dating apps.

Results

My designs used hierarchy within the typography to stimulate the users attention and not detract from what they typically see on dating apps. Combined with strong layouts this keeps users interested and scrolling when using the main function of the app.

The development of Flurt is still ongoing and my designs will undoubtedly evolve as the app develops further.
